What is a TV Licence?

Legal Requirement

A TV licence is a legal requirement to install or use receiving equipment to watch or record television programs. In Swaziland whoever is in possession of a TV set or any gadget capable of receiving television broadcast, must be in possession of a valid TV licence.

The Eswatini Television Authority Act, 1983, Section 22 states

No person shall be in possession of a television receiver or video cassette recorder capable of receiving or recording television broadcasts unless he /she is in possession of a current television viewers certificate or licence issued in accordance with this Act.

How much is the TV Licence Fee?

The TV Licence Fee is E 15 per month. So for each TV and similar devices, you need to pay E 180 per year.
